This wasn’t just a few holes and a windmill. Hidden Valley’s new indoor course is a fully themed, all-weather space filled with treehouse features, forest-style decor, and charming obstacles. It’s equal parts magical and mischievous. There’s even a 19th bonus hole to surprise players right at the end.
From winding paths to hanging bridges, the experience is playful from start to finish. It's not just about getting the ball in the hole-it's about the laughter, the challenge, and the joy of discovering what's around the next bend.
With thousands of visitors expected, the surface had to be more than just good-looking. It needed to play well, feel real, and last. Artificial grass was the obvious solution, offering consistent ball roll, realistic green speed, and the ability to incorporate bold colours and creative shapes.
For this job, we rolled out the full palette. Each hole kicks off from a bright red tee-off area-instantly eye-catching and clear for players. Our blue putting green grass winds appears around the course, cleverly representing water hazards and adding to the visual storytelling.
Some walkways are surfaced with sleek black grass to break up the layout and add contrast, while pops of yellow give the space even more energy. We also sculpted the surface with custom rolls and undulations that add both playability and visual flair.
These elements weren’t just about looks. They help guide foot traffic, define space, and give the course a sense of movement. Each turn reveals something new, keeping visitors engaged and entertained.
We came in during the construction phase, after the theming was already in place. That meant working around a lot of fixed features and obstacles. With limited access and tight corners, it wasn’t a straightforward install.
Each section of turf-whether green, red, blue, black or yellow-had to be precisely cut and bonded into place. But our team thrives on detail. The finish was clean, smooth, and totally in sync with the creative layout.
We had to align the curved blue grass with water-themed features that nestle into nooks beneath props and structures. The kind of fiddly work that tests your patience-but also gives you a great sense of satisfaction when you step back and see it all come together.
This course wasn’t designed for quiet Tuesday afternoons. It’s built for birthday parties, school tours, rainy day crowds and mid-summer madness. That’s why we used our most durable, low-maintenance putting grass:
It’s safe underfoot, non-slip, and tough enough to keep looking great for years-no matter how many putters stomp across it.
Since opening, the course has been a hit. Families love it. Parents appreciate the clean, mess-free experience. And players of all ages can’t help but be drawn in by the bright colours and quirky design.
It’s not unusual to hear laughter echoing through the space, or see people snapping photos beside their favourite hole. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Hidden Valley has added another gem to its crown.
From our side, it was a great gig. We don’t just lay grass-we help create experiences. And this one was especially rewarding. Hidden Valley had the vision. We had the surface. Together, it just worked.
Whether you’re building a themed adventure course, a play area, or a next-level back garden, synthetic grass gives you the freedom to dream big. Custom colours, sculpted contours, championship-grade feel-it’s all possible.
This project proved one thing for sure: artificial grass isn’t just for lawns anymore. It’s a design material. And in the right hands, it can help turn a good idea into an unforgettable attraction.
